Families are encouraged to keep young readers engaged all summer long with the return of the BOOK IT!® Summer of Stories™ program.
Enrollment for the free reading initiative opens May 1, 2026, offering families with children in pre-kindergarten through sixth grade an easy and fun way to build reading habits during the summer months. The program runs from June 1, through August 31, and is designed to help students maintain literacy skills while school is out.
Participants can get started by downloading the BOOK IT! app, completing a quick enrollment, and creating a profile for each child. Once enrolled, families set monthly reading goals and track progress throughout the summer.
As an added incentive, students who meet their monthly reading goals can earn a reward—a free Personal Pan Pizza from Pizza Hut—helping to motivate consistent reading.
